Better Sleep, Less Fatigue: Why Your Nights Matter to Your Days
You wake up, reach for coffee, and start the day already feeling behind. By midafternoon, even ordinary tasks feel like a struggle. If that sounds familiar, your nighttime routine deserves a closer look.

You wake up, reach for coffee, and start the day already feeling behind. By midafternoon, even ordinary tasks feel like a struggle.
If that sounds familiar, your nighttime routine deserves a closer look. Sleep is about more than the hours you spend in bed. It also matters how you feel when you get up—and how well you function throughout the day.
In Part 1 of our sleep series, we introduced the research behind Sunmed's Full Spectrum Sleep CBN Gummies. This week, we're looking at one finding that connects nighttime rest with daytime well-being: reduced fatigue.

According to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, insufficient or poor-quality sleep can leave you feeling unrefreshed and interfere with concentration, decision-making, and reaction time.
For everyday life, that can mean struggling to focus at work, losing patience more easily, or feeling too tired to enjoy your plans.
Sleep is one part of the picture. Persistent fatigue can have other causes, so ongoing exhaustion deserves attention rather than simply another cup of coffee.
What did Sunmed report about fatigue?
Sunmed's public summary of its placebo-controlled sleep trial reports that 78% of participants experienced less daytime fatigue with the studied sleep gummy formula.
That is an encouraging finding, but the number needs context. It describes the proportion reporting improvement—not a 78% reduction in fatigue severity or a 78-percentage-point advantage over placebo.
Reported fatigue also differs from objectively tested alertness or driving performance. The result does not establish that the product makes someone safer to drive, and it does not guarantee an absence of morning grogginess.
The findings concern the studied formula; they should not automatically be applied to every CBD or CBN product.
Give better sleep a stronger foundation
A nighttime product is only one consideration. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute recommends habits that support a more consistent sleep routine.
Start with a few manageable changes:
- Keep regular hours. Aim for similar bedtimes and wake-up times throughout the week.
- Make room to wind down. Use the hour before bed for quiet activities and reduce bright screen light.
- Review your caffeine timing. Its effects can last up to eight hours, so an afternoon coffee may still matter at bedtime.
- Make your bedroom comfortable. A cool, dark, quiet space can support sleep.
- Spend time outdoors and stay active. Build these habits into your day when possible.
Choose one or two changes you can repeat consistently. A routine that fits your life is easier to maintain.
Pay attention to your mornings, too
Consider keeping a simple sleep journal for a week or two. Note your bedtime, wake-up time, nighttime awakenings, caffeine use, and how rested you feel the next day.
If you use a nighttime product, record that as well, including any unwanted effects. These notes can help you describe patterns to a healthcare professional; they are not a diagnosis or proof that a product caused a change.
CBD can cause drowsiness and interact with medications. Combining it with alcohol or other sedating substances can increase that risk. Full-spectrum products can also contain THC. Discuss use with your healthcare professional, follow the current label, and never drive while drowsy or impaired.
